Madeline Hotham , a 7 year old 2nd grader from Batavia, is excited to be playing Dorothy in the Wizard of OZ Hugs Cast! Although this is her first lead role, Madeline has been in four Mainstage performances with FVR and has thoroughly enjoyed each and every experience here. She has also taken several classes, including a Wizard of OZ Musical Performance Class. In the class, she played Dorothy for one scene and loved it! She is thrilled to now get to perform as Dorothy on the Mainstage! The Wizard of OZ is one of Madeline’s favorite musicals which makes it that much more fun to perform. Madeline says “playing Dorothy is a lot of hard work but I’m having fun and learning a lot. I am also making new friends, which is great.” She goes on to say “the songs are my favorite part, I can’t get them out of my head.”
Madeline’s mother, Christy says that “Madeline is really enjoying this show. She comes home with lots of great stories to tell about her experiences at rehearsal.” As Dorothy would say, “there’s no place like home” and to Madeline that saying is very fitting because Fox Valley Repertory Performing Arts Academy is like a second home to her!
Madeline hopes that you can join her and her fellow cast-mates as they “Follow the Yellow Brick Road”!
